Real Spirits' Second release of Double Barrel Whiskey starts as the mash of Real Ale’s award winning Scotch Ale, Real Heavy. This complex malt bill includes caramalt, chocolate malt and peated malt, which creates a character in the whiskey that sets it apart from the rest. It is distilled twice in a hand-hammered copper pot still, and then aged in new charred white oak barrels. After 17 months, the whiskey is transferred into a Port barrel from Fredricksburg, TX winery, Grape Creek Vineyards. After 4 months in this port barrel, the whiskey takes on flavors of baking spices, cinnamon, maple syrup, sweet dried fruit, coconut and an underlying hint of smoke and leather.
The March 24th Release Party will include:
*Special Distillery tours at 12pm & 2pm
*Specialty cocktails sold over the bar in the Tap Room
*750ml bottles of our Texas Hill Country Gin, Signature Whiskey, and Double Barrel Whiskey #2 available for sale to-go (limit 1 double barrel per person)
