Who said herbs can’t be used in beverages beyond tea? Not Cindy Merdith from The Herb Cottage. Join Cindy as she discusses the many uses of herbs in beverages for every day use. Get tips for making herbal teas, hot and iced, and receive a receipe for Sparkling Herbal Soda. At the end of the program, there will be herbal sodas to sample.
4:00-5:00 p.m. - Infusing Spirits with Herbs & Spices
Discover how to master one of the latest trends in handcrafted cocktails; herbal infused spririts. Using the special qualities of Lavender, Real Spirits Head Distiller, David Topel will share his expertise. Plan on stopping by Real Spirits at the Real Ale Brewing Company to continue the experience.

Low Water Gardening Including Lavender
Russ Patterson, Owner of Lavender and Old Lace of Kerrville, Texas. Russ is a former Texas Lavender Association President and Certified Master Nurseryman. He will be sharing his experiences of living for 11 years in the Hill Country and gardening with lavender and other deer resistant, low water plants to create a succession of seasonal color.

Add fragrance, color and meaning to any floral arrangement with the ancient lure of Lavender. Presented by Russ Plowman, Horticulture Instructor at Texas Tech University, Plant and Soil Science Department, and Director of a new study of lavender as an alternative Crop.
